IMPACT OF CORONA VIRUS PANDEMIC ON VARIOUS SECTORS IN INDIA

The pandemic of corona virus started from wuhan city in China on december 2019, since most of the countries were unaware of its impact and spread through many developed and developing economies faced a great economic and human loss many sectors fell down and many people marked below poverty line, the disease information was not passed untill it becamed a viral flue few countries such as India, Israel, Japan etc took strong measures at the beginning to stop it's influence throughout the country but many 3rd world country such as India had an imense population due to which it was difficult to control it's spread through in the country, as the disease spread through human contact the effect of lockdown in some nation seemed a bit dimming due to the outoutrage and hunger of many average earning people who wanted to earn their livelihood to stay alive in the pandemic. Here are the detailed information of various sectors in India which underwent great loss during corona pandemic.
 • Primary sector:
I) Agriculture:
The lockdown in India was announced during the month of March 2020 it was extended upto 6 months which lead to a loss statement for many people working in agriculture sector. As there was restrictions in the ease of doing any job or business on route level many facory workers and labours had to migrate to their village in a perspective to earn their living through farming, but as there was a ban on transportation facilities many crops and farm yield remained concentrated in certain areas due to which wastage of farm products increased which lead to increase in their price rates as there was reduction in demand and no one was able to buy agriculture products due to lockdown, the prices of products such as rice, wheat and pulses rose by 1-4% and there was hype in the prices of vegetables such as tomatoes, onion etc by 114-120% in the post months of lockdown these things lead to social, economic and emotional havoc, the government had to few schemes which lead to supply rice and wheat at a subsidised rates to the people. Even fertilizers needed for farming were difficult to purchase, as then the eastern and the western regions of the country faced a huge shock due to the destruction done by cyclones hitting the coast lead to the devastation of many crops and farms kicking the backbone of farmersfarmers, many farmers faced the debt crisis during COVID 19 in India.Taking an opportunity the government of India passed the APMC (Agriculture Produce Market Committee) and amending the essential commodities act 1955, which lead to an outrage in many farmers as these act's were not providing a fixed market price for the farm made products and farmers had to rely on the climate conditions or the markets which never provided a fix and profitable rates to the farmers.

II) Dairy and animal husbandry:
The dairy and animal husbandry in India was affected mildly, as there was an increase in the supply of milk to the sectors dealing with milk products the constant procurement of milk and the restrictions embedded on restaurant hotels and gathering lead many farmers to throw their milk on roads as there was no buyer for milk which eventually lead to the increase in the prices of milk as India is the 4th world's largest producer of milk so covid had affected this sector as many domestic animals were found to be affected by COVID and also there were difficulties in veterinary medicines and facilities during lockdown, but still few states such as Gujarat, Punjab etc in India manged to convert the milk into long lasting dairy products such as ghee, powder milk, butter, chess etc so they could aprove it for long but it eventually lead to delay in the payment of farmers so government had to declare some schemes to avoid their loss. More over than according to animal cruelty act any farmer was not able to sell it's bullock, cow's, calves, heifers, camels in open market, it meant that if the Buffalo or cow was not soldable even it was not able to give milk these lead to loss of 20,000-30, 000 to many domestic animal owners so on contradictory basis domestic animal owners were only permited to but them not to sell them.

III) Fishing and fisheries:
About 11 million people in India are dependant on fisheries and of it 80% are small fishers, fish is protein diet and mostly available in the costal areas of India but the COVID 19 impact had hit hard to many fisherman, the fishing industry is dependent on 3 sectors pricing, marketing and organizing, as there was a strict lockdown from March 2020 the disciplinary actions regarding social distancing resulted in th reduction of the demand of fish prices as people were fearful about the spread of disease through physical contact, many woman's who were selling fishes faced problems in selling their items at low rates or no sales, As after lockdown very few boats were allowed with very few workman the quantity of fishes caught were very less which lead to rise in the prices of their catches. Laborers in this sectors are facing problems to meet their daily expenses few are only surviving on single meal a day, a daily loss of 500-1000 INR is seen and many of them cannot pay for the fishing crafts and gears due to their increasing cost. The unpayble debts had shattered the life of a fisherman during the pandemic. Most of the fisherman's are away from advanced fish storage capacities, so they can't fullfill their daily demands through preserving their catches. The fisherman were not able to venture in sea for 90 days due to strict lockdown which had lead to a sudden fall in fishing industry.

IV) Forestry:
The COVID 19 pandemic had hit the forestry industry in India due to the decline in the demand of the wooden products required for construction, hospitality and real estate industries. The forest products imported to India declined by 39% due to the lockdown. Across the country there more than 200 recognized minor forest products including tendu leaf, bamboo, mahua ( flowers and seeds), lac, Chironjee, tamarind, gum and karanj seed around 100 million native rural people are dependent on such products, few people earn monthly 25000 INR by selling such non timber products but due to the lockdown many people had lost their daily earnings these people mostly belongs to the tribes in India.

V) Mining :
The mining sector provides minerals and ores which provide basic raw materials to many important industries like power generation (thermal), iron and steel, cement, petroleum and natural gas, petrochemicals, fertilizers, precious and semi-precious metals/stones, electrical and electronics equipment, glass and ceramics. The government had excluded the mining sector at the beginning of financial year due to the investments and rising demands of mining companies  due to which this sector was poised for the robust growth in the year 2020-21.In the beginning the pandemic hit hard on the mining of ferrous, nonferrous and minor minerals. As the metal manufacturing plants were exempted from lockdown but were facing great disruption due to lack of availability of workers and restrictions on the movement of man to control the spread of pandemic due to this the mine owners were facing difficulties to continue the mining activities. The above criteria aroused by COVID lead to a low production and collection of minerals and ores as the mine owners and contractors had to pay many different types of taxes so the restrictions embedded by the pandemic exacerbated the fall in demand of white goods resulting in the shutting down of plants and furnaces. The contribution of mining to the gross added value reduced by 32% in the year 2020-21, almost all the minerals such as copper, chromite , diamond, fluorite (graded), gold ore, iolite, iron ore, magnesite, manganese ore, selenite, silver, tin concentrate , vermiculite, etc.faced major downfall in production  Except minerals such as garnet , kyanite , lead and zinc ore , lead concentrate , sillimanite and zinc concentrate due to the relaxation provided by few state government, there was about 14% reduction in labour employment during 2019-20 due to COVID pandemic.

 • Secondary sectors:
I) Industrial sector:
The industrial sector includes the industries which are related in manufacturing finished goods from raw materials such as automobile industry, mills, chemical factories, Refineries, construction etc.

- Automobile sector:
Due to the outbreak of COVID 19 many original equipment manufacturers (OEM) reduced their production by 18-20% this lead to the loss of employment as many automobile industries removed their temporary employees there was an estimated job loss of 3.45 lakh employees, beside this 286 auto dealers had been closed this had lead to an adverse effect on the micro and small scale companies engaged in the automobile spare parts manufacturing , the emerge of pandemic lockdown had led to a loss of 2300 crore loss per day to automotive sector. There is a high possibility of the downfall in the years to come.
- Metal manufacturing sector:
The metal manufacturing sector had seen many losses due to low collection of minerals and ores during 2019-20 and the absenteeism of workers due to lockdown and the effects of pandemic which lead to reduction in the production. Even though such sectors were exempted from lockdown, but still the plants were operated with a 60% strength due to pandemic.

- Chemical and refinery industries:
As the country had taken measures to stop the spread of COVID 19 disease the chemical sector which supplies products such as adhesives, polymers, paints, lubricant etc. The pandemic had a mixed impact on chemical industries, this lead to the procurement issues for several companies. It's requirements for pharmaceutical, detergent manufacturing, flavours and fragrance and plastic industries went unstable. Any disruption in this sector has an adverse effects on other sectors. During lockdown most of the countries had put a ban on the transportation facilities which lead to decrease in the demand and prices of the fuels which had hit many petroleum industries in India, the oil products sale had gone down by 10-12% in the beginning of March 2020 lockdown, many trains and flights were cancelled in a motive to stop the pandemic which lead to a reduction in demand of turbine fuel by10%.

- Construction:
The corona crisis had hit the construction sectors in the worldworld which had eventually lead to the unemployment and a recession in almost all countries due to the adverse effects of pandemic. Similiarly all engineering and construction projects had been cancelled and lead to unrest and uncertainty in the construction industry. Many workers left their sites in the fear of pandemic which lead to a slowdown in the progress of the undertaken projects many projects were halted and many companies had to face a loss in profit marginsmargins, pandemic eroded almost 8-10% revenue of the sector. There was also a delay in the real estate business since with few workers on site.

• Tertiary sector :
I) Education:
The rise in COVID had positive and negative impact on a student's life, as we all know how good the Indian education system is due to which only 20% graduates or any other qualifiers are getting jobs on yearly basis, onto this terrible situation people faced COVID pandemic but how many children's and students were ready to face such a hard hitting scenario around 1.56 million schools were closed during lockdown, some could say that they could offer online system, but I want to ask those people that if you are learning online could you feel that excitement and encouragement by social communications done in schools and colleges? I had also gone through online sessions but the problem is if you are facing network problems you cannot clear your doubts properly, it's good that you are safe and sound in your home but when you work in a team you are more effective, anyone can gain knowledge by sitting at home and learning, but to learn wisdom and gain experience one needs to understand himself/herself so that he/she could compare his/her performance with himself/herself. As all schools and educational organizations were closed the wages of most teachers were reduced by 50% or they had to leave their jobs to maintain their daily living, most of the teachers who were working in the private sector were effected by Pandemic, but those who were working for government as usual were being paid even they were not attending their work due to lockdown, many teacher tried to go online but few had no knowledge to gain access so it was a bit troublesome for them. Teaching is a profession were if you don't have students who pay your classes you cannot survive you're journey, it's a bit unjust for those students who want to gain better education from their childhood but those government schools in India are not even providing them with a good education which they need, I don't know how they are selected, but the only reason why some low earning people were sending their childrens to these government school was due to the mid day meal they are not worried about their education, since they had many daily earning problems , the COVID impact had stopped this cycle and lead to the malnurishment of many people in India. Learning online is a good idea but for those kids who don't know how to read and write it is like a book with blank pages, many children's living in rural or villages of India cannot afford to buy the smart phones or any high technology communication devices, but many students are trying to learn by shifting into the metropolitan cities, many had left their dreams to learn abroad, many are thinking to discontinue their education, many teachers of India had do some other jobs, the Indian education system is contagious and dream burnner to many youths who want to do something better for their country.

II) Aviation section:
As the flights were cancelled from march many air piolets and other employees were sent on leaves without pay or had cut their salaries, The airline sector was facing increased debts problems which were unresolveable due to the lockdown, the airlines companies such as indigo faced a loss of 4078 crore in the  2 quarters and Spicejet faced a loss of 712 crores in the 2 quarters, even so the government had launched the vande bharat scheme to bring back all indian citizens from 24 different countries in July 2020 this activities generated a 60% revenue of airlines sector.

III) Tourism, hospitality and transportation:
The tourism industry is dependent on the transportation modes such as airlines, ships, buses, cars etc, this industry is a leading industry for a country's extra earnings many countries which are isolated from the world are mostly known for its beautiful places, but due to the outbreak of COVID 19 pandemic had led to a humanitarian disaster in this sector, as most people travel through planes the corona virus was in fact very effective to affect them and that's why most of the tourist spots were kept close to avoid the spread of the diseases, due to this there was a 66.6% decline in the overseas tourists arrival and that's why around 40 million jobs were lost. Strategic decisions are planning for opening attractions, modes of transport, accommodation, and tourism promotion for which colossal investment is required to recover from the loss. As lockdown lead to many restrictions in travelling both transportation and tourism industry were effect adversly, many truck drivers were not able to earn their daily living since their entire household was dependent on this business. As such in this situation hotels, restaurants and gatherings were restricted with some laws leading to decrease in the number of people visiting them and a decline of many new projects, 53% of the total leading hotel operators have shut down more than 80% of their inventory during the nation-wide lockdownOver 60% of respondents have up to 10% of their total hotels serving as quarantine facilities predominantly in key markets, with some of these hotels providing rooms for the “Vande Bharat Mission” period.

IV) IT sector:
There are many sectors in India which mostly affected by novel corrona virus between them was IT, yes in spite of facing some blockages in the beginning as many employees were completing their wor by staying at home so it was for most of the organization to progress, but some work related to hardware and maintenance was blocked due to the lockdown many people ununderwent lack of employment due to the decline in investment due to the fear of uncertainty or recession, but still this sector is growing it's feet in India.

V) Banking sector:
As we know that Banks works on the intrest collected from the loans paid by the people, during COVID pandemic many small businesses were failed due to increase in the debts and daily loss faced by the owners and many people started saving their money instead of taking loans so many samll banks got failed in this situation. Due to the uncertainty in the market the loans credited to people are getting converted to bad loans which could also reduce the GDP of India.

VI) Health sector :
COVID 19 was a disastrous pandemic in the last 100 years people where unaware of its symptoms as this disease spread through human contact, due to the overpopulation and carless behavior of Indian people they had to face a sudden boost of this deadly virus which had led to thousands of death in the beginning, the healthcare industry faced through lack of equipments, beds and other necessary medicine required for the treatment such unpreparedness of medical sector from last few years lead to an observation that thoe Indian doctors are talented but they are always trying to make themselves safe first then they will save the patients most of the hospitals in India don't care about the patients, they just need their fees to be cleared as soon as possible, people in India are feared from entering two places one is the jail and other are the hospitals, good and normal hospitals charge to lot to the people due to which the medical insurance policies are flourishing in India, but during COVID most people needed their insurance policies to be used at such proper movement this lead to the decline in this insurance policy sector. Most of the doctors in India fled away in fear of death to survive themselves, today whatever the India is it's because of those staff of hospitals who cared for their patient as their patients were facing through a great pain and illness and breathing problems, the applications such as Arogyasetu were a great tool to collect state wise data from every state, but inspire of this proper medical treatment was an urgent requirement and such facilities were not available in rural places even after the declaration of vaccination many people are unaware of it because of lack of electricity and infrastructure in the tribal areas.

• Conclusion:

As there were many sectors in India impacted by COVID 19 virus many local markets were comparatively destroyed as there was no link between demand and supply, people suffered many hardships and many people died because of the lack of communication pretended by a communist country name china, if there was an economic collapse in your house due to pendemic, "would you be quite to say nothing?","my question is not only for all people but to the government of India that, was a lockdown of 1week or 1 month not enough to carry out daily routine for some people?", "why did government of India didn't thought of the increasing unemployment and lack of skills in India?", "if deaths could be reduced by taking strict disciplinary actions then why the lockdown was continued for 6 months?" Even though few people weren't COVID patients but still they died of sucide due to the depression held in them due to lack of food supply, lack of employment, lack of confidence due to such disgusting systems in India promoting a man to go for only government jobs, my request is for the one read my article to please ask our wealthy ministers of our country that by such decisions taken how could we prosper world wide, "if the poor in this nation is still sitting under the street light?"
